HONDURASIn 2005, Vineyard Church of New Orleans member, Laurie Matherne, sold her home in New Orleans. She moved to Tegucigalpa, Honduras, where she works with El Cuerpo de Cristo church and His Eyes Ministries alongside the urban poor on the outskirts of this capital city. The Vineyard Church of New Orleans has partnered with Laurie and the people in this area. Five days a week, approximately 100 children are served a nourishing lunch and receive lessons on Christian living, health, and social issues. We have also provided recreational activities and school supplies for the children. Another 100 children are served breakfast every Sunday at El Cuerpo de Cristo, and we are currently helping the church to upgrade its Sunday School facilities.
