From the beginning of time, God created human beings to live in community, fully connected to our Creator and to one another. As we journey towards this goal of living lives connected to God and one another, each quarter, the School of Kingdom Living will focus on a particular direction: Upward, Inward, Outward.
 UPWARD : Love God We have been created to live in an experiential relationship with the Creator God. As we learn what it means to follow Jesus, it is only natural that our friendship with Him grows as our life story becomes more and more entwined with the story God is writing.  INWARD : Love Yourself Jesus tells us that we are to love others as we love ourselves. Part of the journey that we find ourselves on as human beings is learning what it means to love ourselves, recognizing who we are in Christ Jesus, and understanding how He has uniquely created us. INWARD : Love Others We have also been created to live lives that are connected to each other. From the beginning we see that God’s original intention for men and women was to love one another and to experience God together in community.  OUTWARD : Love the World As followers of Jesus, we were never directed to shut ourselves off from the world around us. Instead, Jesus has been very specific in his call, asking all of those who serve Him to be intentional about living their lives for the sake of others in order to fulfill his desire to restore all humankind to life as He intended it to be. |
  The School of Kingdom Living is a one-year course designed to equip students with a well rounded understanding of what it means to actually live out the teachings and ways of Jesus. For many, the works of Jesus seem so far out of reach and his words are often read as merely good suggestions. As followers of Jesus, however, we believe that Jesus not only desires that we hear his words, but that we would actually practice them as we learn what it is to truly experience his kingdom life – the life of the future lived out in the present - not as an abstract idea, but as a lifestyle. The School of Kingdom Living is a hands-on course that teaches students what it means to reflect the beauty and glory of God as they seek to live out the ways of Jesus in their everyday, ordinary lives. SKL provides students an opportunity to learn how to love and live wholly surrendered lives to Jesus, not only as individuals, but as those who are active participants in the community of faith. “The new life story God is writing for us is this: He intends to have a people on earth who happily, easily, and routinely embody, announce, and demonstrate the rule and reign of his kingdom.”
